WOMEN'S CENTER - DTLA

This project is a complete renovation of an existing six story, 67,000 SF structure located on a small site within a bustling neighborhood of downtown Los Angeles. The renovation work transformed the historic building built in 1927, into a self-contained community for more than 2,000 homeless and very low-income women each year. Construction included 72 studio apartment units, community center, medical offices, and retail space. The renovation work on this concrete structure included an expansive seismic upgrade to the existing building to meet the current building codes. The project achieved LEED Silver Certification and received a 2011 National Preservation Honor Award
