Kevin Buchanan
As the President of Terra-Petra Environmental Engineering since 2010, Kevin Buchanan oversees the strategic direction of the company. Under his leadership, the company has grown by double digits every year since its inception–Kevin has been able to transform Terra-Petra Environmental Engineering from a relatively small methane mitigation firm into a well-recognized national environmental engineering and waterproofing firm. He has accomplished this by building knowledgeable, dependable, and reliable teams that can solve problems quickly, efficiently, and economically to support Terra-Petra’s most valuable-asset, “the customers and clients.” To that end, Kevin has created a very “customer centric” operating environmental, which is the foundation of the company’s current vision, philosophy, and growth plans.
Prior to joining Terra-Petra Environmental Engineering, Kevin was Vice President of Operations at Technicolor world-wide film group where he focused on driving down operational costs, and supporting the global efforts to provide world class product and service. One of his biggest accomplishments was to consolidate and merge two local manufacturing operations under one roof, which showed a net result of operational efficiency gains of $15M. Before that, he was Vice President and General Manager of Bergandi Machinery Inc, which produced highly engineered capital equipment.
Kevin has over 25 years of successful operational experiences in a variety of industries. He has successfully managed business units ranging from as small as $5M in revenue up to $300M in revenue. He is well versed with current high standard philosophies, such as implementing KPI’s to measure operational performance, establishing lean manufacturing practices, and setting up client based metrics to support customer satisfaction goals.
A native Californian, Kevin has a degree in Industrial Engineering from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, along with additional executive management training in operational excellence. He is a big believer in continued education and staying up to speed with state of the art technology and business philosophies.
