Terra-Petra has been in the environmental engineering industry for over 20 years, with many successful projects to lean on. The company started its operations focusing on the Los Angeles market to address the local “methane concerns” that quickly became a big issue. Our in-house experts were a big part of the team that developed the local Los Angeles Methane Code.
Our team enters every project with a “safety first” mindset and philosophy. Having undergone extensive safety training programs to include the 40 hour Hazardous Waste Emergency Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) training, we are proud to say that we work with zero injuries in the field.
Terra-Petra’s expertise has always involved the ability to provide exceptional solutions for methane related issues, including soil gas investigations to determine level of risk. We are adept at recommending the right mitigation strategy and designing the right mitigation system to fit the client’s needs as well as providing the necessary inspections to ensure compliance and system integrity. Over the last ten years in particular, Terra-Petra has become to be recognized as the leading expert in methane and soil gas arena. As methane experts, we’ve also become experts at below grade waterproofing and drainage, having launched our sister-company Building Waterproofing Experts in 2010.
Terra-Petra possess more than 80 years of collective experience in the environmental and soil gas mitigation fields. Our staff includes a Construction Manager, Civil Engineer, Registered Environmental Assessor, and a Registered Geologist/Certified Engineering Geologist. This experience gives Terra-Petra the ability to find compromise solutions for any environmental concern that may arise.
The Terra-Petra Waterproofing Division strives to provide a holistic approach to Building Envelope Consulting with a focus on “making our clients’ lives easier”. We achieve this goal by responding to our clients’ needs in a timely manner and serving as their single point of contact for any services they need. This approach has allowed the Terra-Petra Waterproofing Division a very steady and organic growth from the inception.
Terra-Petra’s Management Philosophy approach is simple: “Make every client’s life easier.” The City of Los Angeles has written a very complex Methane Code. We have found that most of our clients, as well as the members of the design and construction teams, have no experience dealing with a property affected by this code–which impacts every aspect of the project. For this reason, we take the position of being a Methane Educator as well as Methane Problem Solver.
As a full service Methane Consulting Engineering Firm we are able to respond to our clients requests immediately, and be on-site working on projects within days of initial contact. Over the years, we have built a tremendous working relationship with the local agencies. These relationships help to expedite the process since these agencies know exactly how we operate and have absolute confidence in our capabilities–as we have demonstrated many times before. We have a tremendous repeat client database which further reassures us that our clients are very happy with our services. We always engineer and design with a client’s best interest and needs in mind. Terra-Petra believes in fully understanding what the client’s needs, goals, and objectives are prior to coming up with a “best fit” solution.
Terra-Petra is not only knowledgeable with industry practices, but we also work with a “Safety First” mindset. Due to the amount of time that we spend inspecting on construction sites, and the environmental matters that we deal in, all employees go through a 40 hour Hazwoper Safety Training curriculum. We believe in protecting our employees, as well as looking out for all other people that are on every construction site. We have a “zero-incident” record with respect to job site accidents–a record we are very proud of.
Over the years, we have continued to grow operations with expanded core competencies. We believe in taking on new capabilities to meet our client’s total demands whenever possible. These new capabilities have provided us with the ability to offer a “full service” scope of work to support our client base.
