Terra-Petra Attends 33rd Annual Environmental Law Conference at Yosemite®

Terra-Petra is excited to be attending the 33rd Annual Environmental Law Conference in Yosemite ®. It’s an amazing show with great people and a fun, casual atmosphere offering everyone a unique opportunity to socialize with clients and their spouses, kids…and dogs (It is common place to see dogs roaming the conference floor).

The Environmental Law Conference at Yosemite ® is nationally recognized as the largest and most prestigious gathering in California of leaders in environmental, land use, and natural resources law. The show is attended by many of our nation’s top environmental officials, lawyers, and other professionals for four days of legal education and collegiality in Yosemite.

A big thank you to the Environmental Law Section of the California Lawyers Association for producing such a wonderful conference. It’s a great experience and we are proud to be a part of the 33rd annual event!

Terra-Petra’s VP/General Manager, Justin Conaway, and his wife Robin represented Terra-Petra at artworxLA’s inaugural Virtual Wine Tasting Mixer on March 17, 2021. Despite physical distancing, the attendees were happy to know that we can all still connect by sharing a delicious glass of wine while learning about the wine-making process and show support for the artworxLA’s programming.

artworxLA Board Member Grant and his wife Shaya Kirkpatrick graciously hosted this event by donating wines from their boutique vineyard, William Robert Estate Wines, located in Paso Robles, CA. Justin and Robin are now getting ready for their next road trip to Paso Robles thanks to the recommendations from Shaya and Grant Kirkpatrick!

artworxLA’s next virtual event, Gala 29 will take place May 8th- 14th.

Terra-Petra’s Executive Team taking in the the beauty of Yosemite

The Environmental Law Conference at Yosemite®, presented and held annually by the State Bar of California, is nationally recognized as the largest and most prestigious gathering in California of leaders in environmental, land use, and natural resources law. Terra-Petra has been proud to sponsor the Yosemite conference for the last five years.

Many of the nation’s top environmental officials, lawyers, and other professionals in the spectacular setting of Yosemite, Thursday-Sunday, October 19-22, 2017 at Tenaya Lodge, Fish Camp, California (“The Gateway to Yosemite”).

As an organization of environmental professionals, this annual event strives to conserve natural resources and to support their sustainable use. Attendees were asked to reduce carbon footprints by forming carpools or driving in energy efficient vehicles upon traveling to Yosemite. In addition, attendees were asked to sign the State Bar Eco Pledge, and review the Model Law Office Sustainability Guidelines.

The Wilshire Grand project grew from a handshake to become the tallest building west of the Mississippi. For three years, Times staff writer Thomas Curwen has chronicled its construction, from the initial planning phase to the topping off and final design touches. One the pages, are his stories of the Wilshire Grand tower.

To express his appreciation to all those who were involved with the Wilshire Grand project, Korean Air & Hanjin Group (property owner) Chairman Yang Ho Cho, placed the multiple-page advertisement in the Los Angeles Times on June 27, 2017. He wanted to publish the name of every person who worked on the project.

Working closely with A.C. Martin and Turner Construction on Los Angeles’ newest and tallest skyscraper, the Terra-Petra team is proud to be recognized in this LA Times piece (attached/linked PDF) above.

The Trojan Marching Band headlined the special Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on the Plaza area to celebrate the Grand Opening of the Wilshire Grand Center (June 23rd). The media covered event was hosted by Korean Air & Hanjin Group. Chairman (and USC alum) Cho and his team also hosted a private party in the building that evening.

Below are a few highlights we grabbed during the grand opening ceremony—along with fresh photos of, what Chairman Cho describes as, “the crown jewel of Figueroa Street.” Again, Terra-Petra is proud to be recognized as part of this outstanding project.

Terra-Petra's CEO, Kevin Buchanan and VP/GM, Justin Conaway "held court" with many current and future clients in booth 60 at the ICSC RECon 2014 at the Las Vegas Convention Center last week (May 18-20).

"We had such a great opportunity to meet so many people who had methane and vapor gas mitigation needs," said Buchanan. "We hope to be able to continue these conversations and develop as well as continue current relationships in the retail real estate development industry." Here are some of the highlights.

Terra-Petra had "boots on the ground" during the record breaking concrete pour for the new Wilshire Grand Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles – February 16, 2014. We were charged with the responsibility of performing the below grade waterproofing system inspections during this world record pour. We would like to thank Korean Air, General Contractor – Turner Construction, and the design team led by AC Martin for allowing us to be part of this historic occasion.
